
Pharm. Uchenna Uzoma Apakama, FPSN, is the Chairman, Board of Fellows (BOF) of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, the highest professional body of distinguished Fellows recognized for outstanding contributions to pharmacy practice in Nigeria.
He assumed office as Chairman in 2024 and has focused on strengthening professional leadership, mentorship, ethical practice, and public health advocacy.
A graduate of University of Nigeria with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, he is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Paxs Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a leading community pharmacy chain established in 1987 with branches across southeastern Nigeria.
Pharm. Apakama is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN) and a member of international professional bodies, including the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association, and the American Pharmacists Association.
He has also served on the Governing Board of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria and the National Biotechnology Development Agency.
Beyond pharmacy, he has held leadership positions in business and community service, including as President of the Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, and is an active member of Rotary International.
He is widely recognized for promoting access to quality medicines, professional excellence, and public health initiatives, particularly in mental health and substance abuse awareness.
