Today, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Bayelsa State Branch, took a step in preventing drug abuse among young minds by embarking on a sensitization tour to secondary schools in Bayelsa State. Our team had engaging sessions with the students of CSS Opolo and FACISS Okutukutu, featuring a lively Q&A session where we tackled real-life questions and scenarios on peer pressure and drug use. We empowered them with the knowledge to say no and why it matters, dealing with insecurities and Fear of missing out (FOMO), developing critical thinking skills, and understanding the impact of drug use on academics and future opportunities. To make the experience even more fun and rewarding, we donated gift items such as Scrabble boards, books, and stickers to the schools! Scrabble helps build vocabulary, enhance critical thinking, and develop linguistic skills, while our book donations promote a reading culture and expand knowledge bases. We appreciate the support of CSS Opolo and FACISS Okutukutu, and our partners – CRO Brand, Phegs Pharmacy, Healthscope by Hemsworks, and e-Samdex Global Ltd – for making this initiative a success. Special thanks to the PSN Bayelsa State executives ably led by Pharm. Sandra T. Dandyson for her leadership and guidance. Together, we’re dedicated to promoting health education and empowering young people to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.Pharm.
