• He is an experienced Administrator with distinguished personality and name – knows how to administer, run and manage offices, men, materials and systems. So PSN and its offices will be better organized. He knows how to write government memos and position papers including legal drafts, so our submissions to governments and other parties will meet expected qualities.
• As Past Director of Food and Drugs in the Federal Ministry of Health( the highest professional position for Pharmacists in the Nigerian civil service) he has links and contacts in the Federal Ministry of Health and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government ( MDAs). He will therefore not have difficulties to see the Ministers, Perm Secs and other Directors( some are his former colleagues and juniors) and influence them to treat our matters positively.
• Since he understands how governments works , he can lead the PSN to meet and do businesses with other agencies of government like the National Wages commission, Revenue mobilization commission, the National universities commission etc without paying consulting fees to agents or go-betweens.
• Having once been in competitive partisan politics, he has built a network of political friends and associates especially in the legislative arm of government who will come handy in pushing through our legislative agenda through the National Assembly( NASS).
• He is a democrat by nature and practice and will therefore return the PSN to democratic practice of governance where all the organs of the Profession will be free to operate as specified in the constitution. He will return executive power to the National Executive Council ( NEC) and the legislative powers to the PSN Council and the ultimate power to the AGM allowing all matters to go through appropriate readings and debates before passing. He will not smuggle any policy or constitution into PSN.He will resume the building of the PSN plaza in Lagos which has been abandoned, risking our individual and collective investments in the project; as well as complete the Abuja liasion office.
• He will ensure that the provisions in the 2020 Constitution that gave more space and power to our Young Pharmacists ( like removing the requirement for fellowship before any one can aspire to the Presidency or the attainment of unreasonable number of years before aspiring or assuming certain offices in PSN) which were surreptitiously removed in the so called 2022 constitution are restored expeditiously.
• As a democrat, he will once again open up the association for all and sundry to own and participate in preferred technical, interest and other groups that will promote the growth and development of the association and profession, within the provisions and anticipations of the duly approved PSN Constitution.
• Pharmacist Dr Joel Adagazu is a liberal, loving and open professional. He treats every one with love, warmth and respect without any bias at all- Ethnic, religious or demographic. It is always a joy to be around him but he is also very disciplined and will enforce the rules and mutual respect all the time.
• He is familiar with due process and limitation of power and authority and therefore will allow his colleagues in NEC and Council space to act while demanding and overseeing accountability, thereby creating camaraderie within offices and the organs, removing strife and mutual distrust .
• Chief Adagazu will restore the requirements for verifiable achievements before being elected as Fellows of the Society, with a view to limiting discretion and impunity in the selection of new fellows. He will also restore respect to the members of the Board of Fellows as recipients of the highest honor in the Society.
