The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has urged stakeholders in the health sector to recognize and reward its members and other medical practitioners for delivering quality services to the community.
In a communiqué issued at the end of its 42nd annual National Scientific Conference, ACPN emphasized the need to appreciate healthcare professionals for their contributions to healthcare provision. The conference, held in Asaba, Delta State, from July 31 to August 5, 2024, focused on “Building Effective Community Pharmacy Services for Universal Health Coverage.”
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori graced the opening ceremony as the Special Guest of Honour.
The communiqué stressed that healthcare professionals, particularly pharmacists, play a vital role in reimagining local healthcare and deserve support.
“Pharmacists are best positioned to drive this model of care due to their accessibility, knowledge, training, and affordability,” it read.
ACPN argued that pharmacists and healthcare professionals merit recognition and incentives, as they are qualified and well-placed to support patients and contribute significantly to healthcare provision.
