A few days after the flag off of Contributory health insurance scheme for the informal sectors in Ondo state, the state government has trained the handlers and top management of the State Contributory Health Commission, OHIS.
Pharmawise gathered that the training, organized and anchored by Toplek Educational Consult aimed at steering up the health insurance scheme handlers, boost their resourcefulness and promote unity of purpose among the members of staff for better performances.
Declaring the two days training/workshop open at Grand Capital Hotel, Alagbaka, Akure on Thursday, the Special Adviser on Health to Ondo State Governor, Prof. Simidele Odimayo, said training and re-training is an integral part of service, particularly for health workers. This will not only re-equip the service provider but will in no small measure revamp the commitment of staff, repositioning them for greater attainment.
“This course is designed to reinvigorate your leadership and management capacities, improve corporate management and governance as well as develop strategic management plans and strengthen administration for synergized infrastructural improvement in healthcare service delivery.”
“Accordingly, the State Governor, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is committed to having all the residents of Ondo state captured into the health scheme.”
As top management and major handlers of the Contributory Health Scheme, you are therefore charged to remain resolute and determined to come out revamped at the end of this workshop for better service delivery to Ondo State residents as we voyage this new face in the health scheme, Prof. Odimayo noted.
In his remark, the Director General of the commission, Dr. Oyeneyin detailed the members of the management staff of the bogus investment of the state government in the training.
“This training became imperative for top management of the Contributory Health Commission to position the state for a global access to universal health coverage, enhance leadership and management competency, strengthen corporate governance and management.”
Hence, we must see this moment as a pedestal to attain and sustain the set target of the commission, which is to ensure all residents of Ondo State enjoy near a free healthcare service.
It will be recalled that the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa flagged off the informal sector (for artisans, business owners etc) of the Contributory Health Scheme a few days ago. This is in continuation and testament to the Governor’s commitment to ensuring accessibility to healthcare services without undue financial pressure across board notwithstanding business affiliations or career engagement.
