Dear Distinguished Colleagues,
This is a special message of appreciation and deep gratitude to all our Pharmacy Elders, Younger Colleagues and all lovers of our Noble Profession who stood by and gallantly supported the candidacy of Pharm. Dr. Joel Adagadzu, for President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in the election held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on 8th November 2024.
Your massive and unflinching support was a clear demonstration of your love for the redemption of our esteemed profession from its current state of near despair.
It was also clear that you were determined to support someone you believe has the capacity to take the PSN to a level of greater unity and visible progress.
We deeply appreciate you for your selfless sacrifices in terms of your time, energies and sundry resources which you freely and lavishly used to support our collective project.
Considering the circumstances, uncertainties and time available for our campaigns, we must remain very grateful to God Almighty for our participation and great outing in the election.
We made a bold statement that the PSN belongs to all of us and you have the right to choose your leader. We are highly appreciative of this, and we cannot thank you enough.
We should all remember that we did not lose, we simply did not win.
The election has come and gone and a winner has emerged.
God has made His choice and we cannot question Him. We can however, draw attention to the myriads of electoral indiscretions that were observed which are in direct contradiction to the ethical values that our profession represents.
A statement on these will be made in due course for the sake of preserving the integrity of our profession and to form the basis for comprehensive reforms of our electoral processes in PSN.
Meanwhile, we urge all our supporters to put behind the non emergence of our Candidate as the winner, and work for the soul of our beloved PSN in order to take the Pharmacy Profession to a higher pedestal.
As a formidable group, let’s continue to stay united and strive for a professional society where equity, inclusivity, justice, fairness and rule of law are upheld. Our new role in the interim will focus on advocacy for the collective interests of Pharmacy and Pharmacists.
As Men Of Honour, We Join Hands.
Once again, thank you all very much indeed.
Signed:
